Week 3

End of week 3....new injuries, same results as last week....starting to get frustrated!!!

Well it is the end of week 3, still weigh the same...no difference in the inches. Working out is starting to feel like chore that is going no where!!! It is obviously unrealistic of me to expect dramatic results in such a short period of time, but it feels like nothing is changing at all. Extreme dieting is not an option at this moment as I am still breastfeeding and need to keep up on the nutrition and calories for it. Cutting junk food and pop out of my diet seems to have no effect at all. I hope this lull I am in goes away soon and I start to see some real changes.

I needed to purchase a few accessories for working out such as a sports bra and new shoes. I was working out bare foot and because of that I have hurt my ankles and shins from jumping and jogging. So now that I have hurt myself I had to take it easy on myself while working out. It sucks big time, but it hurts so much going up and down on my feet. Working out in my regular bra was getting annoying real fast. The straps kept falling down my arms and lets face it...no firm support to keep the girls in their place! So I made a few key purchases to make working out more comfortable this past week.

New Runners for exercising

This past week I feel like this has been a waste of my time and energy. I will keep at it though since working out is important to my overall health and well being....(all the stuff I learned about in nursing school)...On the plus side the weather outside has turned around and spring has arrived! With the warmer weather and sunshine going out for walks again with the kiddies in the stroller is possible again. Going out for a brisk walking is one of the best exercises to do...also pushing a double stroller up hills aids in the feeling the burn!

Onto the fourth week...trying to stay optimistic about this....

Week 2

Well it's the end of week 2..less sore and some progress!

I have definitely noticed working out is not has tough as it was in the beginning. I am less sore the day after and I am able to do things I have not been able to do. For example lunges have become quiet easy for me to do as well as push ups! Yay for getting fit and stronger!

Well I am down 2 pounds....If I can lose 5 pounds by the end of the month I would be super pleased! My wedding dress will be coming in in June, so I have 3 months to fit into it. I did order a smaller size than I was because I had just had my baby when I went dress shopping. I didn't order a drastic smaller size than what I did measure. Hopefully the dress will fit well and it will be needed to be taken in rather than out.

It is hard not to fall back into old habits. There are days were I don't feel like working out, but I do make myself do it. I can either be lazy and regret it the next day or push myself and feel sore the next. The process is going slow in losing weight, however if I stop now I will regret it in a few months were I could be in shape... Have to keep that in mind that by summer I could be in way better shape.

I really do feel this blog is keeping me on track and sticking to working out. I would feel guilty if I started skipping days. Well this is gonna be a short entry, so keep posted for next week were I hope to start seeing more progress and maybe losing some inches off the waist line ;)

Week 1

Well it is the end of my first week of starting working out and also watching what I eat. I have been working out every two days for 30min. After the first couple of times I worked out I paid for it the next day with the soreness and stiffness all over my body. I hurt in places I didn't know I could hurt...It was a chore to even sit down. Although I may have been sore I kept pushing on with working out. The pain at least let me know I was working my muscles. The game has definitely kept my interest in working out. So far my favourite work outs are punching blocks and as well doing some of the dance classes. I was surprised to see that the game also included some weight exercises which I enjoy doing.

Since starting working out I have been more conscious of what I eat. I have stopped drinking pop, started eating whole grains, and eating more vegetables. Eating right isn't just for my benefit, it is always for my children to help teach them healthy eating habits. I have had cravings for the junk food though. The best way to stop eating junk food is DON'T BUY IT!! Which I am glad I stopped buying chips and junk so I can't be tempted to eat it.

The disappointing part so far is that I still weigh the same. I wasn't expecting drastic results right away,  but I was hoping to be down at least a pound! I understand why people may get discouraged with working out because they want to see the results fast! Of course I know it will take a few months before I start to see any major results, so I will be patient and keep up with my workout plan. On a brighter note I have lost an inch off my waist. YAY! So there is some progress. I am trying to keep positive about this and know it is a lifestyle change and not one of those quick fixes that do not last.

So here I go into week 2...hoping for more results and maybe dropping a pound.

Trying to get fit!

Exercise and diet.....so easy to say, so hard to follow....I have started this blog to help keep me motivated and on track in getting in shape.

I am a mother of two youngsters and finding time to exercise does not come by easy. After the birth of my first it seemed I was able to drop the baby weight in no time at all...which is not the case after my second. It has been over 4 months since my daughter was born and I am still at the same weight after she was born. It has been frustrating in that I thought I would be back to my before baby weight by this time like with my first.

Following an exercise program has been difficult in that I get bored with the exercises I have been doing. Since I am on mat leave from work at the moment I am home 24/7 with my two lil ones which means no time to go to a gym. Working out at home has been difficult with a two year old and 4 month old baby who want my attention all the time. So past exercises I have tried include going on my elliptical, ball exercises, and plain old push-ups and sit ups....yawn...gets boring after a week. So my solution to help with getting in shape was I went and purchased the game Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 for the X-Box Kinect...and no way is this a sponsored post!! I totally bought the game with my own hard earned money. It seemed a bit silly trying to lose weight using a video game, but the game appeared to be fun to play and you could design a workout  program for yourself.

First Impressions....ok I get the game..It is pretty interesting stuff.. The game actually shows you on the TV doing the exercises! (Of course at this stage I do not look so fit and skinny on the TV)...First off playing this game with a 2 year old running around causes enough problems...he goes infront of the sensor and pauses the game on me..but he learned to move to stay away from the kinect and stay to the side. He actually copy's some of the moves I perform and it is pretty cute. So I designed a fitness program catered to my needs which includes 30 min workouts 3X a week. The different exercises were fun to do and I really worked up a sweat! The day after my first workout I was feeling sore EVERYWHERE! So I am looking forward to losing some weight and getting fit!

My hopes are to post once a week on this blog and follow this exercise plan...and along the way eating more healthy and no more POP!! Which will be the biggest challenge cause it tastes sooo good but has so much sugar in it!

The hard part to admit..my current weight..something no woman wants to announce to the world...sigh... ok so I currently weigh 155lbs...GULP!

The Beginning...

So there is a snap shot of me currently...not the most flattering pic of me, but I figure I need to be real about this. Well wish me luck in my journey in getting fit and healthy!
